Rev. Roger Twito

Pastor

Pastor Twito (aka Pastor T) is married to Cathy, and together they have 6 grown children and 12 grandchildren. In his spare time Pastor T enjoys playing and coaching golf. His greatest joy in life is seeing people come to faith in Jesus Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.

Brigitte Gassman

Deaconess

Brigitte and her husband Phil have 4 adult children and 4 grandchildren. They have been part of Ascension since 2001. Brigitte came on staff after seminary in 2014. She likes to watch how God puts together the puzzles of our lives.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6"

Ryan Christ

Director of Christian Education & Youth Ministries

Son of a Lutheran pastor and a recent college graduate from Concordia University, Ryan joined our congregation in July 2023. He loves ministering to families and seeing the Lord work faith in the lives of children, teens, and adults.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

Scott Strosahl

Director of Worship & Music

Scott has been at Ascension since 2013 and joined the staff in 2015. Scott and his wife, Kasey, have 3 boys. Scott loves movies and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.

Wendy Steenhoek

Office Administrator

Wendy has been the Office Administrator since August of 2016. She and her husband, Chad, keep themselves busy raising their three kids. They live on a farm on the west side Ames where they run a business and raise goats.
